Ban Bang Khen (บ้านบางเขน) is a new Vintage Museum located in the Bang Khen district North of Bangkok. The site has multiple differently themed vintage rooms to please the vintage aficionados without forgetting the selfie lovers.

Ban Bang Khen Entrance

The first sight you get when you enter the place is an old red vintage car and some elevated houses. A great photo opportunity to start the visit.

Ban Bang Khen in Bangkok

All around, you will find multiple themed rooms bringing back the Thailand of the 50s. You can find a convenience store, a traditional medicine shop, a classroom, a barber shop and a few more. One of the highlights is the coca-cola museum and their collection of artifacts from all around the world.

There are also a few painted walls setup with props, another invitation for pictures.

What also brings a lot of people there is the 24 hours coffeeshop. A big air conditionned cafe with a lot of antique motorbikes on display and a complete menu of coffees and sweets. It was very busy at the time we went and I can say that probably 80% of the people at Ban Bang Khen were into the coffeshop.
Next to the parking area, you can find a few restaurants offering good food in the same vintage vibe. We went for the colorful plate of mixed rice with shrimp paste (khao kluk kapi \\ ข้าวคลุกกะปิ) and a classic Khao Soi (ข้าวซอย).

How To Go ?

Ban Bang Khen (บ้านบางเขน) is located on Phaholyothin Road next to the Department of Rural Roads (กรมทางหลวงชนบท พหลโยธิน) a few hundred meters after the soi 49/1. At the time of writing the article (May 2018), a sky train is being built and will pass by Ban Bang Khen.

For now, the closest Sky Train station is Morchit (สถานีหมอชิต) and the closest subway station is Phahon Yothin (สถานีพหลโยธิน). Taking the bus or a taxi from these stops is then necessary.

The cost to enter Ban Bang Khen is 20 baht and you can get a bottle of water at the mini-mart or use it in the coffee shop.
