My trip in Bueng Khan started in a delicious grilled chicken stand in Pak Kad District (ปากคาด) before continuing my way riding along the beautiful Mekong.

 

Wat Ahong Silawas (วัดอาฮงศิลาวาส)

My next stop would be Wat Ahong Silawas (วัดอาฮงศิลาวาส), which is a very narrow section of the Mekong with a whirlpool when the water is high. At the time of my visit, the water was too low to see any whirlpool.

Northernmost point of Isaan (จุดเหนือที่สุดแดนอีสาน)

Not far from there is also the Norternmost Point of the Isaan Region. Not much to see, but interesting fact to know.

3 Whales Rock (หินสามวาฬ)

After a night in Bueng Khan town, I went to see the 3 Whales Rock early in the morning. What a great sight! Three big rocks sticking out of a mountains and they look like whales from afar.

Phu tok (ยอดภูทอก)

This Temple Mountain protruding from the ground had wooden stairs all around it to climb to the top of the mountain. A little bit scary, but definitely awesome!
