Yasothon (ยโสธร) is a Thai province right in the middle of the Northeastern region called Isaan (อีสาน). Compared to popular provinces that bring a lot of tourists, we could say that not much is happening there, but still, I had two great days travelling in the province. Scroll down to watch the Vlog!
I arrived in town at sunset, great timing to go check out Wiman Phaya Tan (วิมานพญาแถน) which is a huge toad on the side of the river. There is even an observatory in the mouth of it, but I arrived too late as it close at 5 PM.
Luckily for me there was a big food festival at night, so I stuffed myself with delicious food and played a few games at the fair.
The day after, I spent it riding among the rice fields. I went to check the Wat Lat Kao (วัดลาดเก่า), a temple made of beer and energy drinks bottles!
I also found the unexpected, a church! Yasothon has a big wooden church named St Michael’s Church (วัดอัครเทวดามิคาแอล). This church is really impressive and I am glad that I found it!
Check the vlog of my trip about what to do in Yasothon!
